Terms and Conditions
Independent repair, aggregation & repair-facilitation services
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern inspection/diagnosis, pickup, delivery, repair, component-level repair, facilitation and related services provided by Digital Repairs ("DR", "we", "us" or "our"). These Terms apply together with the applicable job sheet, estimate, invoice, case-specific disclaimer, customer approval and Privacy Policy.
1. Scope and Acceptance
A customer accepts these Terms by signing a job sheet, approving a booking or estimate through OTP, email, WhatsApp or another recorded electronic method, making a payment after the Terms are displayed, or handing over the device after receiving a reasonable opportunity to review the Terms.
The version accepted for a particular work order will remain applicable to that work order. Any later amendment will apply prospectively to new bookings unless the customer expressly accepts the revised version for an existing work order.
Where a case-specific written disclaimer, approved estimate or job-sheet condition directly conflicts with these general Terms, the case-specific written condition will prevail for that work order, subject to applicable law.
2. Nature of Service and DR Role
DR provides independent inspection, diagnosis, logistics, repair-support and repair-facilitation services. Acceptance of a device does not guarantee that the device is repairable or that it will be restored to its original, manufacturer-certified or pre-fault condition.
DR will exercise reasonable care and skill and will undertake only the work approved by the customer. Repair outcomes depend on the device condition, prior repair history, technical feasibility, availability and quality of parts, software support, manufacturer support and successful quality checks.
Depending on the work order, DR may act as an independent repairer, an aggregator coordinating a third-party repair facility, or a facilitator coordinating with an authorised brand service channel. DR’s role should be identified on the job sheet or service communication.
All product names, logos and brands belong to their respective owners. Their reference does not imply approval, affiliation or endorsement unless the work order expressly identifies an authorised brand service.
3. Customer Declarations and Authority
- The customer confirms that the customer owns the device or is authorised by the owner to submit it for service.
- The customer must provide accurate contact details, device information, known fault history, prior repair or tampering history, liquid exposure and any relevant accessories submitted with the device.
- The customer must remove SIM cards, memory cards, cases and unrelated accessories unless DR specifically requests them.
- The customer must not submit a device containing unlawful material or a device that the customer is not entitled to possess.
4. Device Intake, Condition and Accessories
DR may record the device model, IMEI or serial number, physical condition, reported fault and submitted accessories through the job sheet, photographs, video or an inward checklist. The customer should review the recorded condition and report any material discrepancy promptly.
Opening a previously sealed device may reveal hidden damage, corrosion, missing screws, substituted components, damaged connectors, prior soldering or other conditions that could not reasonably be identified before disassembly.
Claims regarding missing accessories or visible transit damage should be reported within 48 hours of delivery, together with photographs and the delivery packaging. DR will assess such claims against the inward and dispatch records; the absence of a packing list will not automatically defeat a genuine claim.
5. High-Risk Devices
A device may be classified as a High-Risk Device if it is tampered, previously opened or repaired, liquid damaged, physically damaged, electrically damaged, dead or non-booting, corroded, structurally weakened, imported, modified, discontinued, end-of-life, unsupported by the manufacturer, or affected by unreliable parts availability.
High-Risk Devices are accepted only on a best-effort basis after the risk classification is communicated and recorded. Diagnosis, opening, cleaning, soldering, testing or component-level work may expose hidden or progressive faults. A device may become partially or completely non-functional during reasonable diagnosis or repair because of pre-existing internal damage.
DR will not be responsible for deterioration directly caused by documented pre-existing defects, corrosion, prior tampering, weakened components or hidden internal damage, provided DR exercised reasonable care. Nothing in this clause excludes liability for loss or damage caused by DR’s negligence, fraud or wilful misconduct.
6. End-of-Life, Imported and Unsupported Products
Where a product is discontinued, end-of-life, imported, region-locked or unsupported by the manufacturer, the following limitations may apply:
- Manufacturer-authorised spare parts, schematics, diagnostic tools, software or technical support may be unavailable.
- Part compatibility, repair feasibility, repair time, water-resistance restoration and long-term stability may not be guaranteed.
- DR cannot issue an OEM-authorised diagnosis, manufacturer certificate or brand component-check certificate unless the service is actually performed through the relevant authorised brand channel.
- All repair and replacement attempts for end-of-life, imported or unsupported products are subject to the availability of compatible spares, donor parts, software, tools, technical information and specialist capability. DR does not guarantee that a required spare will be located or that a located spare will be suitable, stable or capable of passing quality checks.
- Where a new or OEM mainboard is unavailable for an end-of-life or unsupported model, DR may offer a refurbished, reclaimed, donor or compatible mainboard, strictly subject to availability and recorded customer approval. The part category, known specification, applicable warranty and any known limitation will be stated in the estimate or its Remarks/Important Notes. OEM authenticity, exact remaining service life and continued manufacturer support are not guaranteed unless expressly confirmed in writing.
- The customer must provide separate recorded approval before a best-effort repair attempt continues after these limitations are disclosed.
7. Inspection and Diagnosis
Inspection/diagnosis is a single paid service. The applicable inspection charge may vary by brand, model, product category, device condition, service channel and technical complexity, and will be communicated through the booking, job sheet, estimate or service communication. The service may include external checks, disassembly, visual inspection, software checks, electrical testing, cleaning, temporary component substitution or other reasonable diagnostic steps.
A standard service closure summary may state the job-sheet number, device identification, reported fault, service classification, general outcome and return status. Detailed engineering reports, circuit-level worksheets, internal technician notes, laboratory certificates, OEM reports or manufacturer-authorised certificates are not included unless separately quoted, technically available and approved before commencement.
No-fault-found, intermittent and progressive faults may require repeated observation. Diagnosis identifies the condition found during testing and is not a guarantee that no unrelated or intermittent fault exists.
8. Estimates, Revised Estimates and Approval
Any estimate given before complete diagnosis is provisional. The final scope may change after opening the device or identifying hidden faults, prior tampering, liquid damage, linked component failure or unavailable parts.
DR may issue a revised estimate. No increased charge, additional component replacement or materially different repair method will proceed without recorded customer approval.
The customer should approve or reject an estimate within three calendar days of communication, unless a different period is stated. If no response is received, DR may place the work order on hold or close it and initiate return after informing the customer.
A new inspection charge may apply if a closed work order is reopened and a fresh diagnosis is reasonably required. This must be disclosed before the new work order is accepted.
9. Repair Scope and Component-Level Repairs
DR may decline a partial repair where, in its reasonable technical assessment, the partial repair would not address the reported fault, would create a safety risk, or would prevent the device from passing quality checks.
Component-level repairs may involve integrated circuits, connectors, tracks, soldering, rework, firmware or related board-level operations. Their outcome depends on the surrounding circuit condition and hidden damage. DR cannot guarantee the performance, longevity or functionality of every individual component after board-level work.
A repair will be treated as successfully completed only after the approved work is performed and the device passes the applicable quality checks. A temporary improvement during testing does not by itself amount to a completed repair.
All repairs and replacements are carried out subject to availability of suitable spares, components, software support and technical capability. If the required spare or support is not available within the applicable approved timeline, DR may close the work order as Parts Unavailable or Not Repairable, inform the customer and arrange return of the device in accordance with these Terms.
10. Parts, Alternatives and Specification Changes
The estimate will identify, where reasonably possible, whether a quoted part is genuine/OEM, service-pack, compatible, refurbished, reclaimed or another disclosed grade. DR will use genuine or manufacturer-authorised parts only where they are available and specifically stated in the estimate.
DR will not knowingly change or downgrade storage capacity, RAM, model variant, colour, network capability, component grade, water-resistance status or another material device specification without separate and explicit customer approval.
The customer must read the complete estimate, including the Remarks/Important Notes column. Any alternative part, refurbished status, change in storage capacity, RAM, model variant, colour, component grade, functionality, warranty or other material specification will be stated in the estimate, including its Remarks/Important Notes where applicable. Customer approval of an estimate containing such a clear remark will be treated as approval of that disclosed change. A material change will not be inferred solely from an unclear technical code or part number.
Parts specially procured for an approved repair may be non-returnable or subject to supplier exchange conditions. Any non-refundable procurement condition must be disclosed before customer approval.
11. Repair Timelines and Customer Updates
All timelines are reasonable estimates unless DR expressly confirms a binding completion date in writing. The timeline generally begins after physical receipt, completion of initial inspection, customer approval, required payment and availability of parts.
DR will ordinarily target initial diagnosis within 7 to 15 working days, subject to complexity, device condition and specialist or brand routing.
If a work order remains unresolved for 30 calendar days after physical receipt, DR will provide a written update stating the reason for the delay and available options. No work order should continue beyond 45 calendar days without recorded customer approval for an extension.
For a High-Risk, end-of-life or unsupported device, a single approved extension may be up to 120 additional calendar days where additional time is reasonably required to locate scarce spares, obtain specialist support or continue a technically feasible best-effort attempt. No extension is automatic. The reason, proposed period and available return option must be communicated, and recorded customer approval must be renewed before any further extension is undertaken.
Special End-of-Life Mainboard Timeline: Where the customer specifically requests continued efforts to replace the mainboard of an end-of-life or unsupported model despite the disclosed limitations, DR may, after separate recorded consent, attempt to source and complete the approved mainboard replacement for a maximum of 150 working days. The period will begin after the customer has approved the specific attempt, supplied all required documents and completed any applicable approved payment. This is a maximum sourcing and repair-attempt window and not a guaranteed completion date.
If no suitable mainboard or technical support is found within the 150-working-day period, or if an available board cannot be made stable or cannot pass the applicable quality checks, the work order will automatically be closed as Parts Unavailable or Not Repairable. DR will inform the customer and initiate recall and return of the device, ordinarily within 7 to 10 working days, subject to safe reassembly and logistics. The customer may request stop-work and return at any earlier time under Section 14. No extension beyond this 150-working-day limit will apply to the same mainboard attempt under the same work order.
For a normal work order continuing beyond 15 days, DR will endeavour to provide a meaningful status update at least once every 7 to 10 days. During an approved 120-calendar-day extension or the special 150-working-day mainboard sourcing period, where there is no material technical change, DR will provide an update at least once every 30 calendar days.
12. Delay Events and Force Majeure
DR will not be liable for delay caused by events beyond its reasonable control, including natural disasters, government restrictions, war, civil disturbance, widespread transport disruption, industrial action, pandemic restrictions or similar force-majeure events.
Ordinary parts shortage, supplier delay, specialist availability or brand-response delay will not automatically be treated as force majeure. DR will communicate such delay and offer reasonable options, including continued waiting, an alternative approved repair method or return of the device.
13. Quality Checks, Observation and Service Closure
After repair, DR may conduct functional, stability, charging, display, network, camera, audio, thermal, battery or other relevant quality checks. The observation period will depend on the fault and repair type.
If the device fails a quality check, DR may continue only within the approved service scope and approved timeline. Any new repair method, additional charge or extended continuation period requires customer approval.
A work order may be closed as repaired, repair declined, no fault found, parts unavailable, technically unrepairable, commercially impractical, unsuccessful best-effort repair or customer-requested return.
On closure, DR will provide a basic service outcome and coordinate collection or return.
14. Customer Stop-Work and Return Request
The customer may instruct DR in writing to stop further diagnosis or repair. DR will stop further non-essential work, subject to safe reassembly, documentation and protection of the device.
Where the device is located at a head office, authorised service centre, specialist facility or third-party repair partner, recall and return may require approximately 7 to 10 working days after the instruction is acknowledged.
Inspection, completed logistics, approved work and actual non-cancellable procurement costs already incurred will remain payable. No further unapproved repair work or charge will be added after the stop-work instruction.
15. Charges and Payment
The applicable charges may be separate and may include booking, pickup, return logistics, inspection/diagnosis, handling, repair labour, parts, specialised testing, insurance, storage and taxes. The inspection/diagnosis charge is one service charge and may vary by brand, model, product category, device condition, service channel and technical complexity.
The inspection/diagnosis charge becomes non-refundable once the inspection/diagnosis has commenced, irrespective of whether the device is repairable, no fault is found, the customer declines the estimate, parts are unavailable, manufacturer support is unavailable or the customer requests return.
Pickup and return logistics charges become non-refundable once the respective logistics service has been performed or irreversibly booked with the customer’s approval.
No repair labour or spare-part charge will be collected without customer approval of the applicable estimate. Delivery of a successfully repaired device may be withheld until approved outstanding charges are paid, to the extent permitted by law.
16. Cancellation and Refunds
A booking may be cancelled before pickup or inspection, subject to any disclosed booking or courier cancellation charge actually incurred.
After diagnosis or repair has commenced, the customer may still request stop-work. DR may retain only the charges for services completed, approved work performed, taxes and actual non-recoverable costs disclosed to the customer.
If a repair charge was collected but the approved repair was not completed, the unearned repair amount will be refunded after adjusting applicable inspection, completed logistics, approved work and disclosed non-recoverable procurement costs.
Refunds will ordinarily be processed to the original payment method or another verified account within 7 to 10 working days after closure and completion of necessary verification. A refund is not an admission of legal liability unless expressly stated.
17. Warranty
Manufacturer warranty and DR repair warranty are separate. Manufacturer warranty eligibility is determined by the manufacturer or authorised service channel. Independent opening or repair may affect manufacturer warranty.
For an out-of-warranty repair successfully completed by DR, the warranty period stated on the invoice or job sheet will apply only to the specific repaired or replaced part and the same reported fault.
Unless a different written warranty is provided, DR’s standard warranty is 30 days for the specific replaced part and 90 days for the specific repair workmanship, counted from delivery. No repair warranty arises where no repair or replacement was completed.
Warranty does not cover new or unrelated faults, liquid or physical damage after delivery, misuse, abnormal voltage, unsupported software, customer data, accessories, consumable deterioration, further tampering, third-party repair, pre-existing corrosion, or another component that was not repaired or replaced.
For a valid repeat-warranty case, DR will not charge for correcting the same covered repair. Logistics allocation will be stated in the applicable warranty communication and will not override statutory rights.
18. Pickup, Delivery, Transit and Insurance
The customer must provide a complete and accurate pickup and return address. A verified address change may be accepted before dispatch, subject to feasibility and additional logistics cost.
DR may use third-party courier or logistics providers. Courier timelines are estimates and are subject to the carrier’s operating conditions.
Where transit insurance is not included in the quoted service, the customer may request insurance before dispatch, subject to availability, declared value, exclusions and additional charges. DR will disclose whether the shipment is insured where reasonably practicable.
For loss or damage in third-party transit, DR will assist with a claim and provide available records. Any contractual limit will apply only to the extent permitted by law and will not exclude liability for DR’s own negligence, fraud or wilful misconduct.
Delivery may be completed against the original receipt, OTP, registered mobile verification, government identification or another reasonable ownership-verification method.
19. Data, Accounts and Privacy
The customer is responsible for backing up data and removing confidential information before submission. Repair may require reset, formatting, software installation, account removal, update or data deletion. DR does not guarantee preservation or recovery of data.
Where device access is required, the customer should provide a temporary unlock code rather than a permanent password wherever possible. DR will access device content only to the extent reasonably required for diagnosis, repair, quality checks, fraud prevention or legal compliance.
For Xiaomi/Mi Account lock, Google Factory Reset Protection (FRP), activation lock or a similar account-security or ownership-verification service, the customer must ordinarily provide a valid proof of purchase or invoice and a valid government-issued identity document. DR may also request the IMEI or serial number, original box or warranty card, ownership declaration, authorisation from the registered owner, linked mobile number or email details, or any additional document required by the manufacturer, authorised channel, security policy or applicable law.
DR may refuse, pause or close an account-lock or FRP-related request where ownership or authority cannot be reasonably verified, the documents are incomplete or inconsistent, the device is reported lost, stolen, blocked, finance-locked or unlawfully possessed, or the requested action would breach law or a manufacturer security process. Submission of documents does not guarantee that the account or security lock can be removed.
Personal information may be used for booking, pickup, repair, payment, customer support, warranty, fraud prevention, legal compliance and service communications, in accordance with the Privacy Policy and applicable data-protection law.
Service-related communication is necessary for performance of the work order. Promotional communication and sharing for unrelated marketing will require a separate opt-in and may be withdrawn through the stated communication channel.
20. Removed Parts and E-Waste
Removed or defective parts will be returned to the customer upon request made before service completion, unless the estimate clearly states that the part is subject to manufacturer warranty return, supplier exchange, core return, insurance retention, safety restriction or lawful e-waste handling.
Parts not requested or required to be retained may be channelled through an authorised recycler or another lawful e-waste process. DR may refuse to return a part where possession or return would violate law, safety requirements or an expressly approved exchange condition.
21. Unclaimed Devices and Storage
The customer should collect or accept return of the device within 10 working days after written closure notification.
If the device remains unclaimed, DR may issue reminders by email, WhatsApp, SMS, telephone or registered post and may charge a reasonable disclosed storage fee after 15 days.
Ownership of an unclaimed device does not automatically transfer to DR. After at least 90 days and a final written notice, DR may take only such recovery, storage, recycling or disposal steps as are permitted by applicable law. Any proceeds or adjustment will be handled as required by law.
22. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by law, DR will not be responsible for indirect, special or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of business opportunity or loss arising from customer data, except where such exclusion is prohibited by law.
For a device with a documented pre-existing defect, prior tampering or high-risk condition, DR will not be responsible for deterioration directly caused by that pre-existing condition where reasonable care was exercised.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, gross negligence, breach of statutory consumer rights, unauthorised data use or any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
23. Grievance Redressal and Escalation
Service questions may be raised with Customer Support using the work-order number and relevant communication. A dissatisfied customer may request management review through the escalation email below.
DR will endeavour to acknowledge a formal grievance within 48 hours and resolve it within one month, subject to the complexity of the matter and any information required from the customer.

24. Statutory Rights and Jurisdiction
These Terms do not exclude or restrict any right or remedy available to a consumer under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 or another applicable law.
For non-consumer commercial disputes, and subject to mandatory statutory jurisdiction, courts at Thane, Maharashtra will have jurisdiction. A consumer may approach any forum or authority having jurisdiction under applicable consumer law.
25. Miscellaneous
The job sheet, approved estimate, invoice, case-specific disclaimer, recorded customer approval, Privacy Policy and these Terms form the service agreement for the work order.
No oral statement will amend the agreement unless confirmed through a recorded communication by an authorised DR representative.
If any provision is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply to the fullest extent permitted by law.
A failure or delay by DR in enforcing a provision does not waive that provision.
Headings are included for convenience and do not limit the meaning of a clause.
For these Terms, a "working day" means a day on which the relevant DR office, repair facility, sourcing partner or service channel is ordinarily open for business, excluding Sundays and applicable public holidays at the relevant location.
